Chattisgarh Samarthan for Participatory Development (CGSPD)

Samarthan has been working in Chhattisgarh since inception of Samarthan. When Chhattisgarh became a separate state in 2000, Samarthan opened a state office in Raipur. Samarthan has a longstanding presence and capacity to manage certain programmes independently. It has been realized that a separate state identity can be created to independently manage programmes in Chhattisgarh. Samarthan will provide shared services of HR, accounts and administration for the new entity. The new entity will have mixed bag of programes related with the above two units CSAP and CEWASH. The two centers will provide strategic guidance to the team as and when required. In case of multi state projects for MP and CG, project co-ordinator can be mutually decided.

The three centers will be interdependent to draw expertise from each other. However, management of the programmes and center’s operations will be independent. Policy guidance on finance, administration, HR management of the centers will be shared for cost effectiveness. With the maturity of the centers, these will function as independent legal identities. The Group of Samarthan institutions will be supported by a Governance unit which will be attached with the Executive Director/Vice President who will be responsible to provide strategic guidance and governance support to the independent legal entities.
